My Breeding Philosophy

Belgians' |
My
mission is to breed healthy and typical Belgians, with the sparkling,
alert temperament so characteristic of the breed, in accordance
with the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) breed standard.
|
The
principles which I breed by are:
1. Abide by the ethical codes of the Belgian Shepherd Club
of Queensland, and the Canine Control Council of Queensland.
2. Only breed from dogs that have been health tested for
the prevalent genetic diseases known in the breed.
3. Only breed from bitches over the age of two and a half
years, and never upon consecutive seasons.
4. Only breed from dogs whose offspring I believe will add
to the soundness and health of the breed in general.
5. Ensure that any dog I use in my breeding programme has
a stable and sound temperament.
6. Raise all puppies in my home, ensuring they receive excellent
socialisation and exposure to a variety of experiences in
order to develop their potential to lead happy, well adjusted
lives.
7. Fully inform puppy purchasers about the known health
problems in the breed, and health tests available.
8. Follow up on all puppies that I breed for life, to ensure
of the identification of health and temperament problems
in the lines of dogs I use. |
