Venice delivered 5 beautiful babies today (2 girls and 3 boys), all weighing between a healthy 370 and 435 grammes.
A big thankyou to some very special people; firstly to my friend Linda Collins (Domburg) for allowing Venice to come to Australia, and then for sending semen from the beautiful Enzo (Vegas van Moned) for this very special litter of puppies. Thanks to Monique (Van Moned) for breeding such a beautiful boy, and to Nic (Hawksflight) for all she did in getting Enzo’s semen to us. A huge thankyou to Craig and Julie Fynmore (Beljekali), who rescued Enzo’s semen from Sydney customs and helped me negotiate the importing minefield.

At the BSDC of QLD Speciality Show Nova was graded ‘Excellent’ by Swedish Judge Mr Jesper Anderrson , with the following critique:

2 years. Bite – scissor. Feminine. Medium long head, well chiselled. Bit snipe in muzzle. Parallel headlines, long stop. Brown eyes, well shaped. Medium ears – well set. Good reach of neck, strong backline, sloping croup. Sufficient chest. Good bone and feet. Good angulation front to rear. Moves with balance and good reach and drive. Red highlights in coat around throat. Nice temperament.

Venice is confirmed in whelp to Vegas van Moned following her ultrasound today, and puppies are due on June 20th, 2008.

Venice had her AI this week. Many thanks to Kelly Irvine and the wonderful staff at Manly Road Vet Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland, for the exceptional care shown to Venice. We are hoping for tervueren puppies in mid-June 2008.

After much activity on both sides of the world I am delighted to say that semen from Enzo, the stunning Vegas van Moned is finally on Australian shores. Enzo can be seen at Linda Collin’s UK web site: http://www.domburg.co.uk/vagas_van_moned.htm

Venice (Ch Domburg Top Class) is due in season at any time, and her much awaited ‘mating’ to Enzo will then take place.

A new page has also been created for our delightful companion and the full time rogue ‘Jack’ (Belengere Adelphus) in Armchair Alley, which records his painful journey with Genu Valgus, and his recovery to full mobility.

Despite being very out of coat, Nova was crowned an Australian Champion today at the Combined CCC Championship Show held in Brisbane.

• Highlights of her Brisbane showing over the last 4 weeks has included:
  Winning Best of Breed and BEST JUNIOR IN GROUP under Irish Judge Mr Tulson, at the Beaudesert Kennel Club Championship Show and,
• Winning Best of Breed x 2 to beat a BISS Championship winning male, and a BISS Open winning female.

Many thanks to my friends Kathryn (Mirribandi Kennels) for so expertly taking her to her title, and of course to Janet (Goodvibes Boxers and Papillons) for all she did prior to her accident.

Not least, thank you Helene (Lumineux kennels) for allowing this exquisite girl, a granddaughter of the magnificent Milan De La Closerie De Yenda, to come to live with our family in Queensland.

Nova will now spend her time working towards her obedience titles, along with her best pal Venice, although she will still grace the Specialty Show rings each year.

Nova (Lumineux Moonlightsonata) is going on her holiday next week to my good friend Kathryn Todd at ‘Mirribandi’.
Now we are in to the heat of the Queensland summer, and with few shows within our local region until 2008, Kathryn has kindly agreed to campaign Nova in Brisbane City and its surrounding shows.
